Definition

An identifier of the subject matter that constitutes the primary focus of the skills and knowledge acquired in a qualification, course or skill set.

Context

It enables the analysis of data based on subject matter and can be utilised to identify specific areas for targeted funding.

Guidelines

All programs not on the National Training Register must be assigned a field of education code. Note that if submitting a program that is listed on the National Training Register, this data is being supplemented with data provided by Training.gov.au.
