Vocational education indicator | VET Information Standard

Definition

Specifies whether the intention of the program or subject is vocational in nature.

Context

It is used to analyse the vocational and non-vocational education training activity.

Guidelines

Vocational training focuses on developing workplace-related skills. Nationally recognised training, including skill sets, qualifications, and courses, usually carries a Vocational education indicator denoted as 'yes'. Note that not all accredited units from nationally recognised courses are registered in the National Training Register but are indicated as 'yes' for vocational education. The intent of a subject is distinct from the course's vocational nature. A subject in a vocational course may not always be vocational itself.
