Definition
Indicates the current stage of a student within their training.
Context
It is used for monitoring a student's progress throughout their training, serving as a metric for enrolment, participation, and completion rates.
Guidelines
When reporting subject and program enrolments: a Student's status should be marked as 'commenced' when they have actually begun to participate in learning activities/assessment, as opposed to when a class/term cohort begins. A Student's status should be marked as 'deferred' if the student has temporarily stopped participating in learning and upon returning, is expected to continue in the same enrolment, as opposed to ceasing this enrolment to be enrolled in another. Following a period of 'deferred', a Student's status should be updated to either 'commenced' or 'concluded', as appropriate, based on their progress. The valid combinations of reporting Student status, student status reason and student activity are available in the student state transitions table.
