Definition
Identifies the level of educational achievement successfully completed by a student in the VET or university sectors.
Context
It is used for identifying students with prior learning when measuring activity, outputs and participation in the VET sector.
Guidelines
Based on the Australian Standard Classification of Education (ASCED), this classification excludes senior and junior secondary education (Year 12, Year 11, and Year 10). Matriculation/Year 12 in the TAFE sector is not counted as prior educational achievement here. Educational achievement type code is mandatory data, and must be included for each prior educational achievement for each reported student where the student has provided their previous qualifications on their enrolment form. This classification is based on a subset of ASCED, ABS, 2001.
