Definition
The initial part of an individual's full name, typically used to identify a person on a personal and individual level. It is also referred to as the 'first name' or 'given name'.
Context
A First given name is used for addressing correspondence. Additionally, a de-identified version of a student's First given name, together with family name and other given name where provided, is used to uniquely identify the individual in NCVER's data collection.
Guidelines
If the student has only one name they may submit it as either a First given name or family name as deemed appropriate. Leading/trailing spaces are not permitted.
