Client identifier - apprenticeships | VET Information Standard

Definition

Identifies a student with an apprenticeship/traineeship training contract.

Context

This is assigned when the apprenticeship/traineeship training contract is registered as a means of uniquely identifying the student for record-keeping purposes.

Guidelines

For National VET Provider Collection only: this is only used if training activity in a subject relates to a client undertaking an apprenticeship or traineeship under a registered apprenticeship/traineeship training contract. This identifier can be sourced from the registering state/territory training authority. The Client identifier - apprenticeships should be the same across data-collection periods except when it has not been reported previously. If it is known that the client is an apprentice or trainee and the correct client identifier is not known, this field may be blank and training relationship type can be reported as 'enrolment in a traineeship' and 'enrolment in an apprenticeship'. Leading/trailing spaces are not permitted.

BRDG00050	Client identifier - apprenticeships is mandatory for a student with a program enrolment with a student status of 'concluded' and training relationship type is 'enrolment in an apprenticeship' or 'enrolment in a traineeship'.	A student who is enrolled in a traineeship or apprenticeship must have a Client identifier - apprenticeships if their program enrolment record has a student status of 'concluded'. Provide the relevant client identifier or correct the program enrolment training relationship type if the student is not a trainee or apprentice.	National	Student
BRDG00213	Only one instance of Client identifier - apprenticeships must be reported for a student.	This rule will be triggered by the API validation service. Only one value will be retrieved. The SMS is required to supply this information.	National	Student
BRDQ00124	The most recent data submission has identified that the proportion of VET Information Standard student records with a blank Client identifier - apprenticeship with the student status of 'commenced' or 'concluded' has changed more than expected when compared with the proportion of equivalent AVETMISS student records for the same period last year.	The most recent data submission has identified that the proportion of VET Information Standard student records with a blank Client identifier - apprenticeship for students who have commenced or concluded training has changed more than expected when compared with the proportion of AVETMISS student records provided for the same reporting period last year.
