This mapping guide aims to assist registered training organisations (RTOs) and student management systems (SMS) suppliers to understand how NCVER and governments will interpret AVETMISS data compared with VET Information Standard data.

How to use
This document is not meant to be used as a conversion tool. It is not intended to be used as a base to determine data compliance with the VET Information Standard.
The AVETMISS to VET Information Standard Mapping guide may provide multiple mapping options. Where direct one-to-one mapping is not apparent, a label of 'complex mappings' has been applied. In these instances, AVETMISS data cannot be converted to compliant VET Information Standard data. RTOs and SMS suppliers should use these mappings as a guide, with the focus being on aligning the appropriate elements or classifications that best represent the characteristics of the student and/or enrolment.
