HOW IS IT CHANGING
Changes to policy, data and technology
Last updated: 15/07/2026
The VET Data Streamlining (VDS) program is delivering a coordinated set of reforms that will reshape how vocational education and training data is defined, collected and reported across the sector.
These changes span policy and legislation, through updates to the Data Provision Requirements, as well as updates to the National VET Data Standard via the VET Information Standard, and the enabling technology and systems that support data submission and management. Together, these components establish a more consistent, streamlined and future-ready approach to VET data.
