Definition
A unique code used to identify a training organisation. This is used for the primary training organisation, as well as for third-party organisations providing training and assessment for an enrolment.
Context
It is used to identify training organisations that deliver vocational education and training.
Guidelines
Only registered training organisations can provide nationally recognised training. A Training organisation identifier is usually assigned by a registration body (ASQA, TAC, VRQA) to a training organisation at the time of registration. The code is listed on the National Training Register (Training.gov.au). It is recommended that Training organisation identifiers for non-registered training organisations include the training organisation's name or part of the name, up to 10 characters long (for example, AutoTrain, Artscraft1). Training organisation identifier applies to both primary and third-party training organisations. Note that if a Training organisation identifier is listed on the National Training Register, other element data will be supplemented by Training.gov.au. If RTOs are using the National VET Data System, their information will be captured during the login process.
