Definition
Classifies a provider of training services.
Context
It is used for reporting student participation, based on the type of educational institution. It is employed for analysing educational participation on a regional level and for specific groups.
Guidelines
School: a parliament-recognised institution providing preschool, primary, or secondary education, including compulsory and non-compulsory stages, led by a principal. TAFE or similar public institutions: publicly funded technical and further education (TAFE) institutes or similar entities, typically offering vocational training. University: higher education institutions established or recognised under state or territory legislation, with examples including government and non-government universities. Enterprise: registered to provide nationally accredited training to employees or cadets, categorised as government or non-government enterprises. Community-based adult education: non-profit organisations focusing on adult education, delivering courses on various subjects. Other: private training providers, for example, private education centres, professional associations, industry associations, equipment manufacturers, and other miscellaneous training organisations not otherwise classified. Note that if a training organisation identifier is listed on the National Training Register, this data is being supplemented with data provided by Training.gov.au. If RTOs are using the National VET Data system, their information will be captured during the login process.
