Transitioning to the new national reporting requirements

As part of the VET Data Streamlining (VDS) program, registered training organisations (RTOs) will transition from reporting against the current AVETMIS Standard to the new VET Information Standard.  Transition timeframes are likely to vary for each RTO, but all RTOs must be ready to begin reporting under the new standard by no later than January 2029.  Each RTO's transition journey will depend on several factors, including when their student management system (SMS) is ready to support the new reporting requirements.

For RTOs that are regulated by either the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority or the Western Australian Training Accreditation Council, your regulator will provide you with information about when you will be required to commence transition
